Guest Speaker: 

Katharine Wolchik

Katharine Wolchik joined AIG in 2009 and heads the Americas desk at AIG Global Economics. She is responsible for the macroeconomic analysis, forecasts and research of the US, Canada, and other economies of North and South America. She frequently presents at AIG committees and meetings involving senior management such as the Country and Sovereign Risk Rating Committees. Her work also includes employment, industry, and insurance forecasts of regions of importance to AIG.

Prior to joining AIG, she worked as an economist in the Corporate Development department of Air Products and Chemicals, where she was responsible for country risk analysis and long-term contract accounting. From 2006 to 2007, Katharine worked as a staff economist at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), where she worked with economists from institutions such as Columbia University and Harvard University in areas such as health economics, labor economics, and microeconometrics. In addition, she has presented her research at several academic and professional conferences, including the Southern Economics Conference and has a forthcoming paper in the Eastern Economic Journal.

She is currently an adjunct professor of economics and finance at City University of New York and St. Francis College and has taught economics and finance at Lafayette College and Lehigh University. She pursued her doctoral studies in economics at Lehigh University and holds a MS in economics from Lehigh University and a BS in mathematics and BA in economics from Lafayette College. She frequently speaks at AIG corporate events involving senior management, and clients.
